Chrono Space ("we", "us") is the responsible party for the personal information we collect through this site, as defined by South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.

2. Why we process it

• To provide valuations, list watches for sale, and facilitate sales
• To process payments and coordinate authentication, shipping, and payout
• To communicate with you about your sale, purchase, or enquiry
• To meet legal and accounting obligations

Our basis for processing is that it's necessary to perform the contract we enter into with you (as a buyer or seller), or is done with your consent (for example, submitting the sale form).

3. Who we share it with

We don't sell personal information. We share it only where necessary to operate:

• PayFast — processes payment for online purchases directly; see PayFast's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data
• Independent watchmakers — receive watch details (not typically your personal information) for authentication
• Couriers — receive shipping name and address to deliver a sold or returned watch
• Our email provider — used to send transactional emails (valuations, status updates, receipts)

4. How long we keep it

We retain sale and transaction records for as long as needed to meet accounting, tax, and legal obligations (typically five years in South Africa), and delete or anonymize other personal information when it's no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.

5. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy
• Ask us to correct or delete information that's inaccurate or outdated
• Object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we've handled your information unlawfully

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold, including restricting admin access and using secure, authenticated connections. No system is completely immune to risk, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

This site does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes — for example, if we add analytics — this policy will be updated accordingly.
